22.12.2025The Industrial Property Office of Ghana has recently issued an important notice concerning the submission of Powers of Attorney (POA) in trademark applications. According to the authority, several POAs filed in recent times did not comply with the Powers of Attorney Act, 1998 (Act 549) and Regulation 1 of the Trademarks (Amendment) Regulations, 1972 (L.I. 792).
This non-compliance may result in trademark applications being delayed or refused, directly affecting the trademark protection process in Ghana.
